what can ex-pats do?

Economic conditions forced my grandparents to immigrate to the U.S., and just two generations later I was forced to leave for the same reason. I don't have the means to make the long trip to the U.S. whenever I please, but I will hold U.S. citizenship indefinitely. I thought there might be others like me who want to support and be represented in this delegation even if we haven't resided in a U.S. district for some time. Remember how important those ex-pat absentee ballots turned out to be in the 2000 Presidential election. Are there any thoughts about how we can fit in? Is there a way for ex-pats to have an impact by convening in more practical locations that are still far from the U.S.?

Hi Jimmy, and welcome! I'd think that whatever you can do would be great. Maybe (and this is just a suggestion, mind) you could print out the final copy of the Declaration and then take it around as a petition to all the ex-pats you know, and have them sign it, and send it back to us (keeping copies, of course!) so that we could present it to the National Assembly and Congress. Or maybe we can get an Internet voting system set up, where you all can click in to show your support? Do you have any suggestions - I'm sure everyone is open minded!

What do you think is feasible in your neck of the woods, and for others all over the world?
