Re: SLOGAN IDEAS
"You can fool some of the people all of the time
And all of the people some of the time
But you can't fool all of the people all of the time"
We ain't being fooled no more
Something along these lines, the quote from abe is great and seems relevant but I don't know how to use it. I was thinking about a tv ad with bush quote "fool me once shame on me.........." And Obama "change you can believe in" but I don't have more than that.

Re: SLOGAN IDEAS
Okay, my brain is still stuck on E Pluribus Unum, so bear with me!
What if we did "Born of Many, We are One: E Pluribus Unum"
AND,
What if we used the Liberty Tree as our symbol?
1. Many roots and many branches, but symbolizing a unity of purpose.
2. would tie in both the "roots" of American democracy and Philadelphia. (Well, ok. The tree was in Boston, but you know what I mean!)
The only thing I haven't figured out yet is where to put the 99. I feel that the percent sign is cumbersome visually. I also wonder if having one and 99 in the same logo or slogan would be weird?
If I get a chance, I'll try my hand at designing a logo and uploading it.
peace,
Johanna

Re: SLOGAN IDEAS
I like many of these ideas for a slogan. May I suggest putting up a poll to get a vote on each? I played with the idea of this one for a while.
"The consent of the governed."
I will post it as a poll in Voting, Polling and Research, Defining This Group.

These are ok with me:
"Born of Many, We are One: E Pluribus Unum"
"The consent of the governed."
Don't thin k we need to have "99%" in it. Some of the 1% support us, some of the 99% don't. While our focus is on the detrimental effect on governace that comes from this drastic of an income disparity, the problem is the distortions caused by an economic system that produces that much disparity, not necessarily by the individuals who comprise the 1%.
