Repeal of 2007 FCC allowance regarding media ownership in top 20 US markets Empty Repeal of 2007 FCC allowance regarding media ownership in top 20 US markets

I strongly believe that "We, the People" need to repeal the 2007 decision by the FCC that overturned the 32 year ban on corporate ability to own BOTH television stations and newspapers in the largest 20 American markets.

The ban was originally put in place to limit media monopolies within single markets, This was done to allow for a greater diversity of opinion in order to better serve the citizens. We've suffered greatly in recent years and have seen the coverage of social reform movements greatly marginalized. Many members of the 99% do not have the financial means to take part in the "social media" movement. By breaking the back of the larger media conglomerates I believe we can reopen social discourse and push terrestrial radio, the least expensive media to the poor, to better serve the community.
